Child Care Connect provides technical assistance and training to local child care and Head Start providers in Lee, Scott, and Wise Counties and the city of Norton. The services provide staff members of local day cares with training designed to improve the care they give the children.
Topics include:
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Positive Discipline
- Health and Safety Issues
A lending library provides supplemental information and educational tools to be used in the centers. The program also provides technical assistance to people who are interested in developing a day care center. Additionally, Child Care Connect provides information to parents who are attempting to locate a child care service. As a result of this program, eight new child care centers were opened this year.
